Master Frank Marrero is the Chief Instructor of Kung Fu and Tai Chi at the Eagle Claw Kung Fu Academy.
Master Marrero has been studying Kung Fu since 1984.
His first kung fu studies were of the Dragon Style under Sifu Rex McCoy and Master Dennis Decker.
In 1987 Master Marrero began studying Eagle Claw Kung Fu and Tai Chi Chuan under Grandmaster Leung Shum. Because of his skill, dedication and perseverance, he was promoted to Master Level of the Eagle Claw System by Grandmaster Leung Shum. Master Marrero carries on the traditions and responsibilities of teaching, promoting and preserving the art of Eagle Claw Kung Fu and Tai Chi Chuan.
In 2001 Master Marrero met Grandmaster Willy Lin, a long time friend of Grandmaster Shum. With Grandmaster Shum’s approval and permission, Master Marrero began studying Tien Shan Pai with Grandmaster Lin. Master Marrero has assisted Grandmaster Lin on some of his instructional dvds.
With approved permission of Grandmaster Leung Shum, Master Marrero learned Xing Yi Chi Kung (Qi Gong) from Master Den Fu Xing.
Master Marrero was the winner of the 1993 Foo Jow Pai Full Contact Middleweight Championship at the Sands Casino in Atlantic City. He takes a special pleasure in sharing his martial arts fighting techniques and experiences with up and coming fighters.
In 1999 Grandmaster Leung Shum went into semi-retirement and appointed Master Marrero as principal instructor of the New York Headquarters. Master Marrero has taught and trained hundreds of students, many of whom have won awards in tournaments throughout the country.
